WACC Board (approved 3/12/25)

3100. The National Federation Swimming and Diving Rules, as modified by the CIF, the NCS and the WACC shall be the official rules of the WACC. Stroke and turn rules shall be emphasized and enforced at every meet.

3101. Swimmers must comply with CIF/NCS rules regarding non high school sponsored competition.

3102.Regarding the Conference Champion

3102.1 The winner of the league championship meet at the end of the season shall be the WACC league champion

3102.3Each school is allowed unlimited entries in any race but only the top four from any one school shall be included in the scoring individual events.

3103. Regarding Dual Meets – dual meets shall be unscored

3103.1 League dual meet competition shall be at the varsity and JV levels, commencing at 3:30 pm unless both schools agree otherwise.

3103.2 The order of events shall mirror the NCS order of events.

3103.3 With the agreement of all coaches involved in the meet, JV events may be shortened. With the agreement of all coaches involved in the meet, events may be combined. Ineligible swimmers may not swim in “open” lanes.

3103.4 It is recommended that there be two timers per lane and a minimum of six timers. The visiting team shall supply a minimum of three timers. Coaches shall ensure an adequate number of lap counters. Schools shall ensure that they have adequate personnel to conduct the meet.

3103.5 Schools with more than four swimmers in an event may enter complementary, non-scoring entrants in selected events determined by the involved coaches. Comps must be designated in advance.

3103.6Disputes over finish places shall be immediately resolved when results are brought to the scorer’s table. Starters and finish judges shall all finalize all finish places in close races.

3103.7 Coaches shall meet before the event begins to make scoring arrangements if there are more than two schools participating.

3103.8The host school shall report the results to the local media.

3104. Regarding the WACC Varsity Championship Meet

3104.1Entries to the league meet must follow the process outlined in the fact sheet. There shall beno substitution of entries after they are submitted. There shall be no exhibition swimmers in the varsity championships.

3104.1.1 Each school is allowed unlimited entries in any race but only the top four from any one school shall be included in the scoring individual events

3104.2There shall be no consideration for hardships.

3104.3 Coaches shall meet at the conclusion of the championship meet to ensure that NCS Meet of Champions entry procedures are followed.

3104.4 Every attempt shall be made to “sanction” the meet through USA Swimming and to use qualified starters and stroke and turn judges. WACC schools shall furnish other officials as stipulated in the fact sheets and as agreed upon at the seeding meeting.

3104.5 All-League honors will be awarded to the winners of each varsity event. Coaches shall vote for a male “Swimmer-of-the-Year” and a female “Swimmer-of-the-Year” at the postseason meeting or at the conclusion of the league championship meet.

3104.6 Every attempt shall be made to establish a north/south rotation for the league championship meet.

3105. Regarding the WACC Non-Varsity Culminating Meet

3105.1Competition will be held in both boys’ and girls’ non-varsity events

3105.2 Schools are allowed unlimited entries in each individual event. Entries to the league meet must follow the process outlined in the fact sheet. There shall be no substitution of entries after they are submitted.

3105.3 The non-varsity culminating meet may be combined with the varsity championship meet.
