WACC BOARD (Approved 1/22/25)

2500. The National Federation Soccer Rules, as modified by the CIF, NCS and the WACC are the official rules of the WACC.

2500.2 A soccer official who has a relative participating on the soccer team of a particular school shall not officiate any games played by that school.

2500.3 Should a varsity soccer game be discontinued before the 60-minute mark in that game, the game shall be continued from the point at which it was stopped at a future date agreed upon by athletic directors. Should a soccer game be discontinued after the 60-minute mark in that game, the game shall be over and the score shall stand. AD’s may make adjustments to the above by mutual consent. AD’s shall be conscious of the costs incurred in this potential game continuation and shall attempt to equalize the costs to both schools.

2501. Schools are required to use the league form to identify individuals who are qualified to take over as coach should the head coach be “red-carded”. If a coach is ejected and no approved school representative is present to assume coaching responsibilities, the game is forfeited to the opposing school.

2502. The suggested start time of league games shall be determined by the host school.

2503. Three points shall be awarded for a win; one point for a tie, with the following exception. When a Shoreline A boys’ team is playing another Shoreline A boys’ team or a Shoreline B boys’ team is playing another Shoreline B boys’ team, the points earned shall be divided in half. The teams with the most points at the end of the season are the league champions. If there is a tie for 1st place, the league championship shall be shared by the teams in the tie. The automatic qualifiers to NCS competition shall be the Foothill League champion, the Foothill League runner-up, and the Shoreline League champion. If there is a tie, the NCS representative will be determined by the following prioritized steps:

2503.1The records of the tied teams in their head-to-head competition.

2503.2 If this is a tie for other than 1st place, the records of the teams within the tie against the teams above them in the league standings, starting with the first place team

2503.3 The records of the teams within the tie against the team immediately (above them). then below them in the league standings

2503.4 The records of the teams within the tie against the next lowest team in the league standings. This process shall continue using all teams in the league standings

2503.5 The conference records of the teams within the tie but only when all schools in one league are scheduled against all schools in the other league

2503.6 If at any time in the above steps a team is eliminated from the tie, but a tie still exists(started with a three-way tie for example), the progression starts once again with 1906.1 and continues until the tie is broken.

2503.7 A draw from a hat by the league’s athletic directors.

2503.8 Every effort shall be made to complete the league season. If inclement weather causes so many rainouts that a league is unable to complete its season by the Saturday before the Sunday NCS seeding date, the NCS representative(s) will be the team(s) with the highest point totals.

2504. Selection of the All-League Teams – The all-league selection process will start using the WACC website

2504.1 Coaches shall nominate their players using the process outlined on the WACC website. Coaches shall attend the postseason meeting to formally nominate their players. A coach who does not attend the meeting, send a substitute, or make arrangements with the league commissioner to vote may not nominate his/her players for All-League honors.

2504.2 Each school shall receive the following number of nominations determined by the final league standings:

1st place =  seven nominations;

2nd and 3rd place =  six nominations;

4th and 5th place =  five nominations;

6th place =  four nominations.

If there is a tie, the tied teams shall receive the number of nominations delegated to the place for which they are tied. The league commissioner has the authority to adjust the number of nominations per school when league alignments are not 6 and 6.

2504.3One of the nominated players shall be selected as the “Player of the Year.”

2504.4 Each coach shall then complete a ballot, voting for 12 players and one goalie for the first team and 12 players and one goalie for the second team. A coach may NOT vote for her/his players.

2504.5 If a tie occurs and the tie can be resolved by determining which player received the most 1st team votes, it shall be done; otherwise, ties shall be voted off. The Player-of-the -Year shall be added to the first team.

2504.6 After 1st and 2nd teams are selected, coaches shall add two honorable mention honorees from their school
