WACC Board (approved 8/5/2022 )

4001. The National Federation Lacrosse Rules as modified by the CIF, the NCS and the WACC shall be the official rules governing water polo contests.

4000.1 Games ending in a tie shall go to sudden death overtime.

4002. Schedules and Game Procedures:

4002.1 The single round robin league schedule shall be drawn up by the league commissioner using input from the coaches. Suggested game days are Fridays.

4002.2 The suggested contest format is that boys and girls play on the same date against the same opponent at opposite sites.

4002.3 The home team shall wear a light uniform and the visiting team shall wear a dark uniform

4002.4 Only players, coaches, trainers, scorekeepers, other game officials, and the press are allowed on the sidelines; spectators must remain in the stands

4002.5 The home coach shall call in results to the local media unless both coaches agree otherwise. 4003. The team with the best record in league play shall be declared “League Champion.”

4004.

4004.1 There shall be and end-of-season, single-elimination tournament to determine the automatic entry to NCS playoff competition, using league standings to seed the tournament. Ties shall be broken in the following manner.

4004.1.1 The records of the teams within the tie against each other.

4004.1.2 The records of the teams within the tie against the team in 1st place in the league standings (if this is a tie for other than 1st place).

4004.1.3 The records of the teams within the tie against the team in 2nd place in the league standings (if this is a tie for other than 1st place); then 3rd place, 4th place, etc.

4004.1.4 The records of the teams within the tie against the team immediately below them in the league standings

4004.1.5 The records of the teams within the tie against the next lowest team in the league standings. This process shall continue using all teams in the league standings.

4004.1.6 If at any time in the above steps a team is eliminated from the tie, but a tie still exists (started with a three-way tie for example), the progression starts once again with 3004.1 and continues until the tie is broken.

4004.1.7 A draw from a hat by the league’s athletic directors.

4005. Selection of the All-League Team:

4005.1 Schools shall follow the timeline for all-league nominations established by the league commissioner, using the WACC website for nominations.

4005.2 The Boys’ All-League First Team shall be composed of thirteen players. The Boys’ All-League Second Team shall be composed of thirteen players. The Girls’ All-League First Team shall be composed of fifteen players. The Girls’ All-League Second Team shall be composed of fifteen players.

4005.3 Coaches shall attend the postseason meeting. A coach who does not attend the meeting, send a substitute, or make arrangements with the league commissioner to vote may not nominate his/her players for All-League honors.

4005.4 The number of nominations shall be based on league finish:

Finish Boys Girls
1st Place = eight nominations = eight nominations
2nd Place = seven nominations = seven nominations
3rd Place = six nominations = seven nominations
4th Place = five nominations = six nominations
5th Place = four nominations = five nominations
6th Place = three nominations = four nominations

 

 

 

 

4005.5 Coaches shall first select a “Player-of-the-Year” from among the nominees. Each school may nominate one player from its team. Coaches may not vote for their own players.

4005.6 Coaches shall then cast thirteen (boys) / fifteen (girls) votes for 1st team; 12 (boys) 14 (girls) players and one goalie and thirteen (boys) / fifteen (girls) votes for 2 nd team, Coaches may not vote for their own players. Ties shall be voted off. Coaches shall add two players from their school as honorable mention after the balloting.

4005.7 An all-league first team shall be composed of the thirteen (boys) / fifteen (girls) who receive the most votes; 12 (boys) 14 (girls) players and one goalie. The Player-of-the-Year shall be added to the first team. Thirteen (boys) / fifteen (girls) shall be selected to the 2 nd team
